Slug is a unique id for the animal (e.g. sunny-the-sloth) — lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens only. Turn on Enabled for interaction for animals guests can meet up close; the public page shows an “Interactive encounter” badge. Photos require manager approval before they go live.

Use the Published toggle for day-to-day visibility. Delete removes the animal and its photo permanently. A “Pending” tag means a photo is awaiting manager approval.

Screened requests

Every employee upload is auto-screened, then waits here for your decision — it never reaches the public site until you approve it. Flagged images were screened as potentially hazardous; their uploader, source IP and device user-agent are recorded for follow-up.

Image screening — Gemini API key

Uploaded photos are screened for hazardous content by Google Gemini before they reach the approval queue. The API key is stored encrypted in the database and is never shown again after you save it.
